Hi, I’m Tiffany Tharpe. I’m a Christian writer who knows how difficult it can be to keep trusting God when life is hard.
I don’t write because I have all the answers or because I always trust God without struggling. I write as someone who is still learning to return to him sooner, release what I can’t control, and keep persevering by faith, one day at a time.
My prayer is that the things I share will help other women feel less alone and encourage them to keep holding on to God through whatever they are facing.
Life Has Not Been Easy, but It Has Been Blessed
A few weeks after my fifteenth birthday, I had a diving accident at a local park. I damaged my spinal cord and became a C5 quadriplegic. In a matter of seconds, nearly every part of my life changed.
For over thirty years, I’ve lived with my disability's physical limitations and daily dependence on others. My life has involved pain, uncertainty, financial struggles, and losing loved ones. Yet, there have been many blessings: daily provisions, unexpected provisions, answered prayers, and reminders of God’s faithfulness.
Some days, I can clearly see my blessings, but on others, problems pile up, pain becomes overwhelming, and those blessings are harder to notice.
It is only by holding on to God’s faithfulness that I’ve been able to persevere. Following Jesus hasn’t made the physical and emotional struggles of my life go away. But through those struggles, God has been with me. He has been with me in the valleys, in the questions, in the grief, and in the suffering. Even when my circumstances made him feel far away, he was still there.
I still have days when I worry, question, try to control what I can’t control, or wonder what God is doing. But when I look back at all he has brought me through, I’m reminded that he has been faithful. That is the truth I keep returning to.
Why I Write
I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, I loved getting lost in stories about others’ lives and exploring and learning about new things. It wasn’t long before my love of reading became a desire to write stories and share what I was learning.
Much of what I wrote remained hidden in notebooks or saved on my computer. But over time, I developed a strong desire to do more with my writing, especially as I read God’s word and wrote about what he laid on my heart as I learned more about him. Unfortunately, I let doubt and fear keep me from following that desire for too many years. Starting this website was one of my first steps toward moving past those fears and trusting God with my desire to write.
I see all my writing as one ministry with one message: life can be hard, but God is faithful. Whatever we are facing, we can keep returning to him, holding on to hope, and learning to persevere by faith, one day at a time.
Sometimes I share that message directly through biblical encouragement grounded in Scripture and what God is teaching me through my own life. Other times, I share hope through fictional stories about love, family, faith, and grace.
However I share it, my desire is to help women know they aren’t alone and encourage them to keep trusting God through whatever they are facing.
My fiction and several of my nonfiction projects are still in progress. I look forward to sharing more of them as they develop. Until then, you can find biblical encouragement on the blog and free resources created to help you keep trusting God when life feels heavy.
The Care That Makes This Work Possible
Living and working from home as a C5 quadriplegic requires dependable assistance throughout each day. Through my Help Hope Live campaign, friends and readers who choose to give can help with qualified care-related expenses that aren’t fully covered by the assistance I currently receive.
Giving is never expected or required to receive anything I share. If you would like to understand more about my care needs and the different ways you can support this work, you can learn more below.
